  • Farooq Abdullah first Kashmiri politician to partner with RSS-BJP: Gani Vakil

“NC responsible for erosion of J&K’s special status”

Srinagar, Jan 18: President of Kashmir Bachao Tehreek Abdul Gani Vakil on Friday said National Conference President Farooq Abdullah was the first politician from Kashmir to partner with the BJP and its ideological mentor Rashstriya Sewak Sangh for the sake of power and lacks moral authority to seek votes in the name of fighting rightwing forces.
Reacting strongly to Abdullah’s remarks that next election would be a direct fight between NC and RSS, Vakil, as per statement issued, said NC has befooling and hoodwinking the people of Kashmir right from 1947. “Farooq Abdullah has been changing colours like chameleons to grab power. He is once again out to befool the people in the name of fighting against rightwing forces. He has rendered every service to earn goodwill of RSS. Kashmiris know it was Farooq Abdullah who chanted slogans of “Bharat Matta Ki Jai’’ before BJP-RSS bosses in New Delhi,” he said, adding Abdullah didn’t hesitate to say that he is ready to lay the foundation stone of Ram Mandir to please RSS and Jan Sanghis.
Abdullah’s pro-RSS statements have hurt the sentiments of Muslims of India and Jammu & Kashmir.
Vakil said Abdullah joined hands with BJP to induct his son Omar Abdullah in Union council of ministers and expelled Saifuddin Soz from the party for toppling the RSS government.
“Omar Abdullah did not even protest when BJP-led government threw the autonomy resolution into dustbin. The NC can go to any extent to grab power,” he said.
He lambasted National Conference leadership for exploiting people in the name of protection of Article 370.“ NC is one of the eroders of the Article 370,” he said, adding that NC’s all –weather friend Congress is the chief architect in undermining and bulldozing the special status of J&K,” he said, adding that people of Kashmir will never forgive NC, Congress and PDP for extending Central laws to Jammu and Kashmir through constitutional applications order

He said Farooq Abdullah can stoop to any extent for grabbing power. “The Congress leadership ditched NC on every occasion from Sheikh Abdullah to Faroq Abdullah but still NC partnered with Congress party. This clearly indicates that NC can go to any extent to grab power even at the cost of honour and respect of its leader,” he said.

  • Prove sincerity, address cause for which youth take up arms: Mirwaiz to Governor

“Army’s statement over 2018 killings unfortunate”

Srinagar, Jan 18: Addressing the Friday Congregation at historic Jama Masjid, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Dr. Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq termed the statement of army that 2018 was a remarkable year for them in Kashmir as they killed over 250 militants as extremely unfortunate and inhuman.
In a statement issued, Mirwaiz said, “it is strange that a well trained armed force meant to fight another well trained armed force is celebrating and patting its back on killing young men and boys , some as young as 14, while some budding intellectuals and academics, and calling it remarkable! These that they are boasting of killing are not some hard core armed guerillas and terror mongers, but sentiment driven youth forced to take to arms as a consequence of severe repression due to forcible control and what they ( youth) feel, failure of political means to express what is essentially a political demand for self determination. It is simply the intensity of their passion that drives these young boys, who are poorly trained and starved of ammunition to be able to give a real fight, in this greatly unequal battle to an armed force of a country. And yet these boys do, and give up their precious lives for the cause they hold dear. The pain and loss that all of Kashmir feels at their martyrdom only adds to people’s resolve and pushes more young to join in. Instead of admitting this, the armed force of a country that prides itself in the history of its freedom struggle by honoring the likes of Subhas Chander Bose who raised Indian National Army to fight the British colonial rule, sells the killing of these armed youth as a great achievement to people of India.”
Hurriyat (M) chairman said that many in Indian army have in their write ups and lectures admitted that J&K is a political problem that has to be resolved as such.
Mirwaiz said the whole world reiterates that there can be no military solution to the dispute.
Hurriyat Conference (M) said those who are using militarization to prolong the status quo should understand that it comes with a cost and keeps increasing complexities.
Mirwaiz said that while the incumbent governor has said that Government does not want to kill militants but militancy, if it is so and they are sincere then government should address the cause that is leading these educated and young boys to take to arms-start a political process in Ernest to address the sentiment behind it and resolve the dispute. It will not only save the lives of our youth but soldiers also, end militarization and the resultant atrocities that Governor Sb wants leadership to convey to him, and end the uncertainty and hostility that the region is hostage to for past 71 years.
