Kashmiri Muslims perform last rites of Pandit woman in Tangmarg

Baramulla, Apr 08: Setting an another example of communal harmony, people belonging to the Muslim community, performed the last rites of a Pandit woman, in Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s District Baramulla on Sunday.
A Pandit woman Dulari Begum 85, wife of Narenjen Nath resident of Wussan Karhama Tangmarg, died on Sunday, according to the family sources.
As the news about her death spread in the nearby areas, hundreds of Muslims both men and women rushed to the house of the deceased woman to express condolences with the bereaved family.
“The Muslim men participated in all the last rites of the Pandit woman. They took her body to the cremation ground and helped the family arrange for everything required to perform her last rites as per Hindu rituals. Muslim women were also seen consoling the wailing females of the family and relatives,” as per KNS correspondent. (KNS)
