Srinagar: A 65-year-old teacher has been arrested in summer capital Srinagar for allegdly raping a 10-year-old girl, a senior police official said.
Reports said the accused identified as Ali Mohammad Mir raped the minor girl at her home in Panthchowk on the outskirts of Srinagar city last week.
The family of the girl approached the police and lodged a complaint.
The victim was taken for a medical examination which confirmed rape after which the accused was arrested.
“We have registered a case against Mir and he has been arrested,” the official said.
