SRINAGAR: Police in Kashmir Sunday lodged a case against unknown persons for circulating a message which claimed that the Jammu and Kashmir police was observing a strike on March 15.
A special team of police has been formed to crack the case and track down the person(s) who created the message which was circulated on Whatsapp messenger on android mobile phones and social networking site Facebook in Kashmir.
“Some anti-social and mischievous elements have uploaded a frivolous message on Whatsapp messenger and Facebook regarding police strike being observed on March 15th. Police has taken cognizance of the mischief. An FIR number 17/2014 under section 505 RPC, 66 ‘A’ IT act has been lodged at Shergari police station and investigation has been taken up,” a statement mailed by the police to press noted.
A team has been constituted to crack the case immediately and arrest the culprit after tracking them, it said.
