  • Bobby Deol Took A ‘COVID-19 Swab Test’ of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Way Back in 1997! This Hilarious Picture is Going Viral

The COVID-19 pandemic literally affected every single part in the world. It also brought about a huge change in the way we look at lives in general and made us introspect, big time.

Thanks to the pandemic, face masks, shields, swab tests, gloves and social distancing have become the new normal. However, did you know that back in 1997, actor Bobby Deol had given us all an udaharan of how to do the swab test right?

Oooh yes, he did! In a still from his 1997 movie Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya, where he shared screen space opposite Aishwarya Rai, a series of events led to the actor swabbing Aishwarya. And while the scene may have seemed hillarious back then, it sure is the story of our lives now.

    Watch the Video Below:

The video sees Aishwarya and Bobby’s first meeting turn heated when a mix up of bags causes them to clash. Later on, Bobby makes her sneeze twice for good luck and to achieve the same, he swabs her nose. If only we had even an inclination that that’s what our future will look like. Makes us nostalgic of of time when travelling was hassle-less!

  • Barring Emergencies JKDCC Calls for 2 hour pen down strike on Monday

Interference of revenue officials in hospital affairs unacceptable

Demands transport facility and in-house accomodation for the doctors and paramedics.

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Doctors Coordination at Committee(JKDCC) which is an amalgam of various doctors associations, today in a statement showed indignation against undue interference by revenue officials in day to day hospital affairs.

Speaking with Kashmir Today Dr. M Y Tak Convenor JKDCC said, “Adminstration has badly failed during this winter’s snow fall and got itself buried as the snow was not cleared from the roads, lanes and by-lanes for days together. This adminstrative apathy caused a lot of difficulty for doctors, paramedics and patients to reach hospitals and consequently a disaster like situation was palpable.”

Dr. Owais H Dar General Secretary Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK said, that Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Pattan Baramulla through electronic media advised people to avoid travel on Srinagar- Baramulla highway, due to slippery conditions of road and consequent traffic mess, but at the same time visited the Trauma Hospital Pattan to check the attendance of medical staff. The staff could not be there on time as they had to travel through the same route which was unfortunately inaccessible.

Dr Arshid H Trag , Joint secretary DAK said that “SDM Pattan instead of doing his assigned job to clear the roads and lanes and make them accessible for people , so that they can reach to their destinations, visited hospital to create a scene in order to hide his inefficiency and failure by passing the buck in seeking explanation from the medical staff for being late. The National Highway is jugular vein which connects whole north Kashmir with capital city and tertiary care health system. A large number of patients had missed their regular dialysis and chemotherapy due to adminstrative failures , which has risked life of so many patients”.

Dr Masood Rashid , General Secretary Society of Consultant Doctors (SCD) said that, “tremendous work was done during present Covid19 by our doctors and paramedics and our health indicators like morbidity and mortality is lowest in the country, which has been very well appreciated by the Hon’ble Lieutanant Governor and Financial Commissioner and at the same time non of these revenue officials dared to visit hospital premises for the fear of contracting Covid 19. It is very unfortunate that various revenue officials after finishing their dinner visit various health centres for photo sessions in order to remain in lime light on social media”.

Dr Imtiyaz Banday, President Jammu Kashmir Society of Dental Surgeons(JKSCD) said,
“the department of health has its own streamlined administration like Chief Medical Officer(CMO),Block Medical Officer (BMO) and Medical superintendent and during disasters a new duty roster is framed on war footing basis where night staff is asked to stay back in hospitals. We advise our health administration to show some spine, and teach them how hospitals are made to function round the clock”.

President DAJ Dr Balvindar said, that “instead of taking care of basic adminstrative affairs pertaining to day to day life of poor people , they are busy with checking attendance of hospital staff inorder to divert attention of common masses and hide their failures. It is highly deplorable and disgusting that due to their incompetence , traffic is not plying on various roads of Kashmir and consequently it has taken toll on large number of cancer and dialysis patients”.

Meanwhile to express our resentment, JKDCC has called for two hour pen down strike on Monday from 10:AM to 12:00 PM barring emergency services across Jammu & Kashmir.

“Time and again single line administration is using department of health to stay in lime light. Further, if undue interference by revenue officials is not stopped immediately, we will be forced to shut down hospitals across the region for which they will be fully responsible for the consequences thereof” warned JKDCC.

  • Cardaic muscle disease, defect in electric system of can be cause of sudden cardiac deaths in young people: Dr Nisar Ul Hassan

Srinagar: Says, Postmortem must to check the reason behind deaths of young people, vaccine will lessen heart attacks.

Very young people are dying of cardaic arrests in J&K and cardiac muscle disease and defects in electric system of heart can be their cause, DAK president said on Saturday.

While talking exclusively with PTK, Dr Nisar Ul Hassan said that Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle, causing the heart muscle to become enlarged, thick or rigid. In rare cases, the muscle tissue in the heart is replaced with scar tissue. As cardiomyopathy worsens, the heart becomes weaker and it can be one reason of the cardaic arrests in young people.

He said that qt syndrome that is a heart rhythm disorder that can potentially cause fast, chaotic heartbeats and long QT syndrome can be inherited or caused by a medication or condition. It often goes undiagnosed or is misdiagnosed as a seizure disorder, such as epilepsy.

Moreover, the heart attack may be another reason of cardiac arrest, he said, adding that exact reason can be known only through postmortem.

He said the number of heart attack and stroke patients at Kashmir hospitals doubles in winter.

“There is an increase in the number of deaths from heart attacks and strokes during winter months,” he said

“Not only elderly people, but young and healthy individuals come to hospitals with massive heart attacks and strokes. Some of them are brought dead,” he said .

DAK President said winter chill increases your risk of having a heart attack or stroke. “Research shows that there are up to 53 percent more heart attacks in winter than in summer,” he said.

Among those already at high risk due to raised blood pressure, smoking or being overweight the increase is 30 percent,” he said.

“Frigid temperatures constrict blood vessels that increase blood pressure which makes it suffer heart attack or stroke,” he said adding “the blood tends to be thicker and stickier during extreme cold which makes it easier to clot.”

If you catch the virus, you are at an increased risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Covid-19 causes acute and severe inflammation that builds up fat deposits in the inner walls of the blood vessels. These fat deposits dislodge and get stuck in the heart or brain where they block the blood flow,” he said.

“Lack of sunlight during winter leaves people vitamin D deficient which is associated with increased risk of dying from heart attack or stroke,” he said.

Dr Hassan said ‘we know preexisting heart disease is a risk factor for higher mortality in COVID-19 patients, but recent evidence shows that the novel virus can cause heart injury even in people without underlying heart issues’.

“Lung injury has taken the centre stage as the most dreaded complication of COVID-19, but heart damage has recently emerged as yet another grim outcome in the virus repertoire of complications,” he said.

The DAK president said more people actually die of heart disease rather than pneumonia. “Cardiac complications have been found to contribute 40 per cent of deaths related to Covid-19,” he said.

He said COVID-19 infection causes acute and severe inflammation throughout the body that builds up fat deposits in the inner walls of blood vessels. “These fat deposits dislodge and get stuck in the heart or brain, where they block the blood flow. COVID-19 infection activates blood cells and clotting system leading to increased risk of blood clots,” he said.

“The new findings would help doctors to recognize red flags in patients with Covid-19 infection and provide earlier intervention and save lives,” he added.

Vaccine lessens the risk of heart attack and it must be given to public at an earliest, he said, adding that people should quit smoking and take healthy diet and should avoid moving out in very cold weather.

Moreover Sress is a risk factor for heart disease, it could be because chronic stress exposes your body to unhealthy, persistently elevated levels of stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. Studies also link stress to changes in the way blood clots, which increases the risk of heart attack, he said adding that young people here are under stress due to the situation in J&K, unemployment issues and other things.

He said that there is need to provide proper counselling to these young people instead of drugs. (PTK)
