{"id":10879,"date":"2018-01-09T11:20:02","date_gmt":"2018-01-09T05:50:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmir.today\/?p=10879"},"modified":"2018-01-09T11:20:02","modified_gmt":"2018-01-09T05:50:02","slug":"two-militants-killed-in-ongoing-kokernag-encounter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=10879","title":{"rendered":"Two militants killed in ongoing Kokernag encounter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 12.8px;\"><b>Srinagar, Jan 9 :<\/b> Two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter at Larnow area of Kokernag in South Kashmir&#8217;s Anantnag district on Tuesday.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<p id=\"m9126\" class=\"mail-message expanded\" style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;\">\n<p class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \" style=\"overflow-wrap: break-word; margin: 16px 0px;\">\n<p class=\"clear\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\">\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i>A senior police officer told GNS that a joint team of army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search at Larnow following a tip off.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i>Soon after the party approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire triggering off a gunfight.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i>Two militants have been killed so far during the gunfight.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i>He identified the slain as Mohd Furhan Wani son of Ghulam Mohd Wani r\/o Wangund, Khudwani and Mohd Farnham Wani son of Ghulam Mohidin Wani r\/o Wangund Kaimuh.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i>The officer said that the operation is still underway in the area.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i>Soon after the news about the encounter spread, the people mostly youth took to streets and pelted stones on forces.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i>The forces used tear smoke shells to disperse them.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail_extra\" dir=\"auto\"><i>Meanwhile, authorities blocked internet services in the southern district.
