{"id":11334,"date":"2018-03-09T20:52:19","date_gmt":"2018-03-09T15:22:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmir.today\/?p=11334"},"modified":"2018-03-09T20:52:19","modified_gmt":"2018-03-09T15:22:19","slug":"army-soldier-injured-cross-border-shelling-uri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=11334","title":{"rendered":"Army soldier injured in cross-border shelling at Uri"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><i>Srinagar:<\/i><\/b><i> An army man was injured seriously on Thursday night after India and Pakistan exchanged fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri area of north Kashmir\u2019s Baramulla district.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Official sources told GNS that the indo-Pak armies exchanged fire along the LoC at Churanda area of Uri sector late last night.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>In the incident, an army soldier received a sniffer shot in his right leg and has been airlifted to army\u2019s 92 base hospital Badamibagh, Srinagar for treatment.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>The injured soldier has been as identified the injured as Param Jeet Singh of 17 JAT and is being treated upon in the military hospital.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Army\u2019s Srinagar based defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia confirmed the incident.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cUnprovoked Ceasefire Violation by Pakistan in Uri sector today morning. One soldier injured and evacuated to 92 BH. Own troops retaliated appropriately,\u201d Kalia said.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Meanwhile, cross border shelling reported along the LoC in Malti and Kalsan area of Poonch heavy cross border shelling going on in these areas.
