Srinagar, May 6 :<\/i><\/b><\/span> <\/i><\/span>Four militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter at Badigam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.<\/i><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A police officer told GNS that four militants were killed in the operation so far.<\/i><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

“Bodies of the slain militants were recovered along with as many rifles,” the officer said.<\/i><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

He said that the identities of the militants are being ascertained. He said that the operation is going on in the area.<\/i><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Earlier, the gunfight broke out at Badigam village after army’s 44 RR launched the cordon-and-search operation in the area.<\/i><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Army’s 23 Para Commandos, 34 RR, 3 RR, CRPF, and SOG were rushed as reinforcements after the contact with militants was established.<\/i><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

In the initial firefight one SOG personnel, Anil Kumar and army soldier of 44 RR were injured.<\/i><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
