{"id":1799,"date":"2014-04-26T13:38:00","date_gmt":"2014-04-26T13:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kashmir-today.net\/?p=1799"},"modified":"2014-04-26T13:38:00","modified_gmt":"2014-04-26T13:38:00","slug":"protest-ganderbal-woman-dies-due-negligence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=1799","title":{"rendered":"Protest after Ganderbal woman dies due to \u2018negligence\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Srinagar:<\/strong> People in central Kashmir\u2019s Ganderbal district held strong protests and locked a government hospital after a woman died due to alleged negligence of doctors.<\/p>\n<p>Reports said Shameema, 26, resident of Fatehpora in the district, was admitted in the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) and gave birth to a girl\u00a0on Thursday\u00a0morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSoon after the delivery, she started to bleed excessively. The doctors at SDH referred her to Lal Ded Hospital Srinagar,\u201d her husband Mehraj-ud-Din Malla told GNS. He added 15 points of blood were transfused into the patient.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever,\u201d they said, \u201cShe couldn\u2019t survive and breathed his last yesterday afternoon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Soon after her death, people including her relatives held protests at SDH Ganderbal and locked down the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters alleged that the woman died due to medical negligence and demanded action against the accused doctors.<\/p>\n<p>A police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Ganderbal, Liyaqat Ahmad, reached the spot and pacified them after which they dispersed.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to GNS, the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Shabir Ahmad said that there is no medical negligence in Shameema\u2019s death. However, he added: \u201cA committee has been setup in this regard and it will probe the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, police have registered an FIR number 55\/14 in this regard under Section 304\/A at police station Ganderbal.
