{"id":20848,"date":"2020-03-15T14:23:31","date_gmt":"2020-03-15T08:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmir.today\/?p=20848"},"modified":"2020-03-15T14:23:31","modified_gmt":"2020-03-15T08:53:31","slug":"top-let-jaish-commanders-killed-in-anantnag-encounter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=20848","title":{"rendered":"Top LeT, Jaish commanders killed in Anantnag encounter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em><strong>Internet services snapped in area<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jahangeer Ganaie<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anantnag, Mar 15 (KNO):\u00a0Top commanders of lashkar Toiba\u00a0 and\u00a0 Jaish -e Muhammad\u00a0\u00a0 are among four militants\u00a0 killed in an encounter with government forces in Watergam area of Anantnag district\u00a0 in south Kashmir on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to wire Service\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), four militants were killed in brief exchange of gunfire with joint team of security forces within a house.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DIG South Kashmir Atul Goyal told KNO said that acting on specific inputs on intervening night of Saturday &#8211; Sunday a joint&nbsp; search operation was launched in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the searches were intensified, hiding militants fired upon the joint&nbsp; forces&nbsp; approaching towards suspected spot which was retaliated heavily&nbsp; triggering off&nbsp; an encounter, resulted in killing of four militants, Goyal said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On being asked there was no fire from militants, &#8220;militants tried to break the cordon and flee after which forces fired and managed to kill all four hiding&nbsp; militants without causing injury to any of forces personnel&#8221;, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Goyal furthermore said that incriminating material including arms and ammunition has been recovered from the slain militants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An official identified the slain militants as Muzaffar Ahmad and Umar Ahmad from Sopat village of Kulgam and Gulzar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahmad from Tarigam village and Sajad Ahmad from Tengbal Frisal village of Kulgam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that Muzzafar, umar and sajad were associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) while as Gulzar was associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that Muzzafar and Gulzar were operating as top commanders of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official further said that exchange too place at a hideout within&nbsp; the&nbsp; house of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, a local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile as a precautionary measure internet services have been suspended in Anantnag and kulgam district\u2014(KNO)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Internet services snapped in area Jahangeer Ganaie Anantnag, Mar 15 (KNO):\u00a0Top commanders of lashkar Toiba\u00a0 and\u00a0 Jaish -e Muhammad\u00a0\u00a0 are among four militants\u00a0 killed in an encounter with government forces in Watergam area of Anantnag district\u00a0 in south Kashmir on Sunday.
