{"id":26672,"date":"2020-06-04T07:57:11","date_gmt":"2020-06-04T02:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmir.today\/airstrip-project-cleared-for-south-kashmir\/"},"modified":"2020-06-04T07:57:11","modified_gmt":"2020-06-04T02:27:11","slug":"airstrip-project-cleared-for-south-kashmir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=26672","title":{"rendered":"Airstrip project cleared for south Kashmir"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Jammu and Kashmir government has cleared a project to lay an emergency landing strip in south Kashmir\u2019s Anantnag district, a militancy-hit area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a notice from the Geology and Mining Department, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been awarded the project to build the 3.5-km emergency landing facility at Bijbehara in Anantnag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The earth work has started for the strip, which can handle even fighter jets. The project will come up parallel to the Srinagar-Banihal National Highway at Semthan.
