{"id":27137,"date":"2020-06-09T15:52:16","date_gmt":"2020-06-09T10:22:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmir.today\/prominent-advocate-appointed-judge-of-j-k-high-court\/"},"modified":"2020-06-09T15:52:16","modified_gmt":"2020-06-09T10:22:16","slug":"prominent-advocate-appointed-judge-of-j-k-high-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=27137","title":{"rendered":"Prominent advocate appointed judge of J-K High Court"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ptinews.com\/news\/11546896_Prominent-advocate-appointed-judge-of-J-K-High-Court.html\">PTI<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New Delhi<\/strong>: A prominent advocate was on Tuesday appointed a judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a Law Ministry notification, Javed Iqbal Wani has been appointed a judge of the common high court of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His recommendation, made by the Supreme Court Collegium, was pending with the central government for the past few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recommendation was finally processed last week and the notification issued on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wani has represented the Union government in several cases in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is the son-in-law of Mian Abdul Qayoom, the president of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, who was detained under the Public Safety Act.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PTI New Delhi: A prominent advocate was on Tuesday appointed a judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
