Police used tear gas shells in the town after people came on roads and\u00a0raised anti-government slogans. Locals claim that the girl, who had come to her relative\u2019s home in\u00a0Aatipora, was raped by an Indian Reserve Police (IRP) constable posted\u00a0as a guard for the minority community in the area. Officials said the deceased, a resident of Kunzar-Tangmarg, had gone\u00a0to the house of Farooq Ahmad Dar in Aadipora, Tangmarg, who is her\u00a0relative, late last night. \u00a0The IRP constable was caught by the locals\u00a0in an \u2018indecent position\u2019 with her, a police official told GNS .He said\u00a0locals handed over the constable to police\u00a0<span>on Friday<\/span>\u00a0and he is under\u00a0detention. \u201cThe constable had an altercation with Farooq Ahmad\u00a0Dar,\u201d he said. A senior police official, while confirming the arrest of the IRP\u00a0constable identified him as Zahoor Hussain of 13th Bn posted at Baiwah\u00a0Kunzar, said an FIR no 24\/2014 under sections 306, 376, 457 and 511 has\u00a0been lodged. But locals say the constable had barged into the girl\u2019s residence and\u00a0raped her. Police, however, out rightly refute the claim. Locals say after the teen was allegedly raped she developed medical\u00a0complications and was shifted to a local hospital where she died. But\u00a0police sources told GNS that the girl had not developed medical\u00a0complication, but consumed poison after the arrest of the constable. A police spokesman in a statement said: \u201cA girl (name with held) had\u00a0reportedly called the said constable to Aadipora. The girl objected to\u00a0the altercation between her brother-in-law Farooq Ahmad Dar and Zahoor\u00a0Hussain. The said girl reportedly consumed some poison and was rushed\u00a0to a nearby hospital where from she was shifted to SMHS Hospital\u00a0Srinagar for treatment. The doctors declared her brought dead. \u201c Locals\u00a0<span>on Saturday<\/span>\u00a0brought her body to Kunzar and blocked\u00a0Srinagar-Gulmarg road and pelt stones on police. The post mortem of\u00a0the deceased was conducted in presence of senior officials.
