Their last rites were held on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>While there was no official statement from the Army, sources said \u201cthese are accidents and not connected to the current situation in the region\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The families of the two soldiers said they were told that the two men were part of a team involved in \u201cconstructing a bridge\u201d in the area. While defence sources said More\u2019s death was \u201creported on Thursday\u201d, Khan\u2019s family said they were informed that he died on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.indianexpress.com\/2020\/06\/06.jpg\" alt=\"India-China Border news Live Updates:\">Army convoy moves on the Srinagar- Ladakh highway at Ganderbal district | Photo Credit: Shuaib Masoodi<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have been told that a bridge was being constructed, and Saleem was part of that team,\u201d said Khan\u2019s uncle, Budhdin Khan. \u201cHe was in a boat which overturned, and he died,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>More\u2019s family said they were told that he dived into the river to rescue two other soldiers. While he managed to rescue them, More was seriously injured when he hit his head on a submerged rock. He is survived by his parents, wife and three children, including an infant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>His father, Vikram More, said he last spoke to him 10 days ago. \u201cSachin had told me that the situation in the Galwan Valley was serious. He assured me he was fine and said I shouldn\u2019t worry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Khan\u2019s mother, Nasima Bagum, said she last spoke to him two days back. \u201cHe said he would come home soon. He never gave details of the situation there\u2026 He said there may be a problem with phone connectivity, and I shouldn\u2019t worry if he didn\u2019t call. I have lost everything.
