{"id":29422,"date":"2020-07-06T21:25:31","date_gmt":"2020-07-06T15:55:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmir.today\/?p=29422"},"modified":"2020-07-06T21:25:31","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T15:55:31","slug":"no-need-to-increase-number-of-covid-dedicated-hospitals-in-kashmir-dir-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=29422","title":{"rendered":"No need to increase number of COVID dedicated hospitals in Kashmir: Dir Health"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><strong>Says only 20 % beds out of 11, 000 available are occupied in Valley hospitals<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Srinagar<\/strong>: Amid rise in the number COVID-19 cases in Jammu &amp; Kashmir, the government on Monday said that sufficient arrangements have been made to deal with the growing cases in the Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Talking to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Samir Mattoo said sufficient arrangements have been made in the Valley to tackle the mounting number of COVID cases in Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe department has made 11,000 beds available to tackle these cases,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Mattoo further stated that at present, only 20 per cent beds are occupied in the Valley hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>He told KNO that there was no need to increase the number of COVID dedicated hospitals in the Valley at present as the department has got enough facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Pertinently, the Kashmir Valley is witnessing a surge in the number of cases with the Director Health Services Kashmir informing that nearly 6,000 cases out of 8429 detected till Sunday evening belong to Kashmir division only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The number of cases started increasing soon after the authorities ordered relaxation in the three-month-long lockdown.
