{"id":295,"date":"2014-03-18T16:27:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-18T16:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kashmir-today.net\/crpf-on-vandalizing-spree-in-bandipora-towns\/"},"modified":"2014-03-18T16:27:00","modified_gmt":"2014-03-18T16:27:00","slug":"crpf-on-vandalizing-spree-in-bandipora-towns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=295","title":{"rendered":"CRPF on \u2018vandalizing spree\u2019 in Bandipora towns"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div><b style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Srinagar: <\/b><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;\">Residents of Hajan and Naidkhai in Bandipora district&nbsp;Tuesday&nbsp;alleged that paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has created \u2018mayhem\u2019 in their areas.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">Hajin residents told GNS over phone that the CRPF men went berserk in the area and spared none. \u201cThe CRPF men broke glasses of the houses, broke window panes and ransacked vehicles,\u201d said a local, adding: \u201cThey have created a reign in the localities.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">Hajan witnessed violent protests after a youth was killed in police action&nbsp;on Friday&nbsp;evening at Naidkhai.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">\u201cI was serving tea to my eight and ten year old sons at my home. Suddenly, CRPF men entered our house and broke window-panes and glasses of our house. In order to save my family, we hid in the bathroom,\u201d Shameema, a resident of Syed Mohalla, told GNS.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">Another lady, who wished not to be named, alleged: \u201cCRPF men even beat women after entering houses. They dragged three women and tried to arrest them but later left them away.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">Sources in the town told GNS that the forces went berserk in Parray Mohalla, Mir Mohalla, Danger Mohalla, Syed Mohalla and Kochak Mohalla.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">\u201cCRPF, without looking right or left, are on vandalizing spree. Since past two days, they have brutalized the population,\u201d another local told GNS.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">Naidkhai town residents leveled similar allegation. \u201cThey have been beating people, breaking glasses and window-panes of houses since past three days,\u201d a resident told GNS.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">But CRPF have rejected the allegations. \u201cThese are baseless allegations. We have ordered our men not to indulge in these kinds of activities,\u201d Public Relations Officer of CRPF, Kishore Prasad, told GNS.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">\u201cIf locals can prove allegations against any of our men, we will take action against him,\u201d he added.
