{"id":3804,"date":"2014-06-20T15:11:26","date_gmt":"2014-06-20T15:11:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kashmir-today.net\/?p=3804"},"modified":"2014-06-20T15:11:26","modified_gmt":"2014-06-20T15:11:26","slug":"friday-prayers-grand-mosque","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=3804","title":{"rendered":"No\u00a0Friday\u00a0prayers at the Grand mosque"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"color: #222222\"><b>Srinagar:\u00a0<\/b>Authorities\u00a0on\u00a0sealed all the roads \u2013 connecting to Kashmir\u2019s Historic Jamia Masjid, located in the old city where already all its gates we closed for the devotes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\">Locals told KNS that there was no\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0call given from the mosque for the prayers as no person was allowed to enter into its premises. \u201cWe could not offer\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0prayers as there were restrictions all around the area,\u201d said a local.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\">Reports maintained further that forces had placed concertina wires and barricades at various roads to stop peoples\u2019 movement towards the grand mosque.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\">Chairman Huriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq had called for the Lal Chowk chalo\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Friday<\/span><\/span>and has asked the people to assemble at Jamia Masjid to take the procession forward after\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span>prayers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\">Locals of old city also stated that authorities didn\u2019t allow them to offer\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0prayers n other mosque- located at the main roads. However, reports informed that\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0prayers were offered in the inner areas of the old city peacefully.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\">Mirwaiz was placed under house arrest on Friday and curbs were put on the movement of the Huriyat (M) chairman to stop him from leading a March towards Lal Chowk.\u00a0\u00a0Huge concertina wires and barricades were placed near the Mirwaiz Manzil Nigeen to stop the entry of outsiders into the house.
