{"id":4020,"date":"2014-06-24T14:53:17","date_gmt":"2014-06-24T14:53:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kashmir-today.net\/?p=4020"},"modified":"2014-06-24T14:53:17","modified_gmt":"2014-06-24T14:53:17","slug":"kashmir-turned-breeding-ground-violence-mehbooba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=4020","title":{"rendered":"Kashmir being turned into breeding ground for violence: Mehbooba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Urges Govt to ensure availability fo ration, water, electricity in Ramadan\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Srinagar:\u00a0<\/strong>Mehbooba Mufti, President Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Member Parliament\u00a0<span>on Tuesday<\/span>\u00a0criticized the state government for the latest causality in Sopore saying that it seems Kashmir is being turned into a \u2018breeding ground for the violence\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>According to the KNS correspondent, Mehbooba while addressing reporters at her official residence in Gupkar said that there is a general concern about the violence taking place in Iraq, Afghanistan and its impact in Jammu and Kashmir. \u201cIncident in Tral, or the latest incident in Sopore many families have come forward to put it on record that their educated wards were forced to pick up the gun. It was because of police torture, harassment that they say that their children pick up the gun. Such a situation is being created that it seems that we are pushing Kashmiris towards the path of violence. Inquiries have been ordered in many previous incidents but no action has been taken. Everybody among us should be concerned that it is happening because of the policies of the present dispensation for the last few years. Kashmiris have suffered a lot. I don\u2019t think that such innocent killings are not taking place and inquiries and probes are being ordered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe security forces should have shown restraint. It\u2019s unfortunate that this government ordered several inquiries into such incidents, but till date no action was taken,\u201d said Mehbooba. Problems of basic amenities are faced by people, water electricity, and ration.\u00a0 The government should ensure availability for ration, water, and electricity at least during the month of Ramadan. \u201cYou see protests taking place for want of electricity\u00a0 in Jammu and in many parts of the Valley.
