People from the various areas of Srinagar\u00a0<span>Thursday<\/span>\u00a0stated that the drainage system of their respective completely fail once rains occur in the city. \u201cIt is a hell out there. Our children are not even able to move out of their homes. The lanes here have changed into streams with no effort to take remedial measures,\u201d said Muneer Akhtar, a Lal Bazar resident. He maintained further that they several times approached their concerned MLA Peer Afaq Ahmad but he never pays any heed to the requests of the people of his area. \u201cHe knows that he will lose. He just managed these years with our roads in deteriorated condition,\u201d said a delegation from Bota Shah Mohalla of Lal Bazar area.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile reports also maintained that massive traffic jams\u00a0<span>Thursday<\/span>\u00a0erupted in several of Lal Chowk and erstwhile including Dalgate, Batamalo, Hari Singh High Street, MA road besides others.
