{"id":48519,"date":"2021-10-03T23:00:39","date_gmt":"2021-10-03T17:30:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmir.today\/?p=48519"},"modified":"2021-10-03T23:00:39","modified_gmt":"2021-10-03T17:30:39","slug":"taarak-mehta-ka-ooltah-chashmahs-nattu-kaka-dies-at-77","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=48519","title":{"rendered":"Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah&#8217;s Nattu Kaka, dies at 77"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">PTI<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Veteran actor Ghanashyam Nayak, best known for his work as Nattu Kaka on the popular sitcom &#8220;Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah&#8221;, passed away on Sunday after a long battle with cancer, producer Asit Kumarr Modi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The actor, who was in his late 70s, was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Modi, who is the creator of &#8220;Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah&#8221;, said the actor&#8217;s health deteriorated in the past few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;He passed away today evening. He wasn&#8217;t keeping well for a long time. He had cancer. He always wanted to keep shooting. Even though he was unwell, work would always make him happy. I would look for opportunities to get him on the show. But it had become difficult for him to shoot. For the last two days he was extremely unwell,&#8221; Modi told PTI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nayak appeared in nearly 100 Hindi and Gujarati films, apart from featuring on more than 300 TV serials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The veteran actor was also known for his work in the Gujarati theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this year, during his chemotherapy, Nayak had shot for a special episode of &#8220;Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is survived by his wife and three children.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>(Except\u00a0for the\u00a0headline, this story has not been edited by\u00a0Kashmir Today staff\u00a0and is published from a syndicated feed.)<\/em>  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PTI Veteran actor Ghanashyam Nayak, best known for his work as Nattu Kaka on the popular sitcom &#8220;Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah&#8221;, passed away on Sunday after a long battle with cancer, producer Asit Kumarr Modi said.
