{"id":5719,"date":"2016-10-06T09:41:51","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T04:11:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kashmir.today\/?p=5719"},"modified":"2016-10-06T09:41:51","modified_gmt":"2016-10-06T04:11:51","slug":"pigeon-found-threatening-message-may-soon-set-free","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=5719","title":{"rendered":"Pigeon found with \u2018threatening\u2019 message may soon be set free"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>The grey-coloured avian, which apparently came from across the border a few days back, continues to remain in police custody in Pathankot.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A pigeon that was detained after it was found carrying a threatening note written in Urdu to Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be soon set free as there was \u201cno point\u201d keeping it in custody, police said today.<br \/>\nThe grey-coloured avian, which apparently came from across the border a few days back, continues to remain in police custody in Pathankot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pigeon is still with us,\u201d a police official posted in Pathankot said today.<br \/>\n\u201cIt shall be set free in the jungle area here and a decision in this regard will be taken in a day or two,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nThe official said there was \u201cno point\u201d in keeping the bird in custody.<\/p>\n<p>On October 2, the pigeon was found by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Simbal post in Bamial sector in Pathankot.<br \/>\nA letter tied to its legs carried a message in Urdu which was translated as, \u201cModi, do not consider us same people as were during 1971 (Indo-Pak war). Now each and every child is ready to fight against India.\u201d<br \/>\nAmid tensions between India and Pakistan following surgical strikes by the Army in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, Punjab\u2019s border areas have been reporting instances of \u201cthreatening messages\u201d, purportedly from across the border, either through birds or balloons.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, a white pigeon that was found in Hoshiarpur district last month will be sent to a veterinary university in Ludhiana for a \u201cthorough\u201d check-up before a decision is taken on its fate.<br \/>\n\u201cThe pigeon will be sent to Ludhiana for its complete check-up to rule out anything suspicious,\u201d Hoshiarpur Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mukerian) Bhupinder Singh said today.<br \/>\nThe bird, which apparently came from Pakistan, was found with \u201csome words written in Urdu\u201d by a resident of Motla village at Mukerian in Hoshiarpur on September 22.<br \/>\nA Pakistani mobile number and \u201cdays\u201d in Urdu were stamped on the bird\u2019s wings.<br \/>\nPolice said that when contact was established on the phone number, a person living across the border admitted that it was his bird which had flown off.
