{"id":6296,"date":"2016-10-13T19:41:41","date_gmt":"2016-10-13T14:11:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kashmir.today\/?p=6296"},"modified":"2016-10-13T19:41:41","modified_gmt":"2016-10-13T14:11:41","slug":"200-officials-scanner-corruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=6296","title":{"rendered":"200 officials under scanner for corruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>\u2018Govt likely to sent their files to SVO\u2019<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-like fb_iframe_widget\" data-href=\"\" data-layout=\"standard\" data-action=\"like\" data-show-faces=\"false\" data-share=\"true\"><em><strong>Srinagar:<\/strong><\/em> As many as 200 government employees, majority of them from public sector undertakings have come under scanner of government for their alleged involvement in corruption, KNS has learnt.<br \/>\nHighly placed administrative sources said that the government was likely to take action against such officers in coming days.<br \/>\nSources disclosed to KNS that the process for initiating action against these tainted officers has already been started.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Chief Minister\u2019s office is monitoring the activities of these officials on day-to-day basis and action against some is expected soon,\u201d sources said.<br \/>\nSources added that most of these tainted officers (about 70 in number) are working in different Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).<br \/>\nSources said that government will sent their files to State Vigilance Organization (SVO) and other agencies for making fool-proof cases against them. \u201cTo make the case fool-proof, the Government will backup these with documentary evidence from anti-corruption bodies and other agencies including the Criminal Investigation Department of the police before further action,\u201d sources maintained.<br \/>\nOne of the top officials of the government said that action against tainted and corrupt officers would continue and nobody would be spared.<br \/>\nSources also said that vigilance has already registered corruption cases against some of the, Managing Directors, General Managers of the PSU\u2019s. \u201cThere has been increase in cases of corruption involving PSU\u2019s officials. Government has the names of tainted officers who were found involved in scams and misappropriation of funds in these PSU\u2019s,\u201d sources said.<br \/>\nSources further said that government has been informed that tainted officers in the state have been from time to time saved by the respective heads. \u201cCases are hushed up at the instance of seniors and are not taken to their logical ends. The officers, who should have landed in jails for their wrongdoings and unlawful acts, have risen to the higher ranks,\u201d according to sources, government was informed.<br \/>\nOne of the top officials of the government said that the corruption was a major challenge in the state with various anti-graft agencies receiving complaints on routine bases. \u201cIt is true that corruption is a major challenge for the government and its adverse effects on the society cannot be underestimated,\u201d the official said.<br \/>\nSources said that the list of the officers under scanner may enlarge for which the preliminary inquiry was underway.<strong><em> (KNS)<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018Govt likely to sent their files to SVO\u2019 Srinagar: As many as 200 government employees, majority of them from public sector undertakings have come under scanner of government for their alleged involvement in corruption, KNS has learnt.
