However, mobile Internet services continued to remain suspended.<br \/>\nThe prepaid mobile services were snapped across Kashmir on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767888\"><span class=\"aQJ\">July 8<\/span><\/span> evening, soon after the killing of young militant commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with government forces.<br \/>\nMobile Internet services were snapped the same evening across the valley. However, services were not suspended on State-run BSNL phones.<br \/>\nSame evening, postpaid mobile services were also snapped in south Kashmir.<br \/>\nSimilarly, postpaid services were snapped in north Kashmir on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767889\"><span class=\"aQJ\">July 11<\/span><\/span> and central Kashmir on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767890\"><span class=\"aQJ\">July 15<\/span><\/span>.<br \/>\nOn <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767891\"><span class=\"aQJ\">July 16<\/span><\/span>, landline services were suspended in Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara in north Kashmir.<br \/>\nWhile postpaid mobile services were restored on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767892\"><span class=\"aQJ\">July 26<\/span><\/span>, the prepaid were restored a day after but outgoing call facility continued to remain barred.<br \/>\nOn <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767893\"><span class=\"aQJ\">August 11<\/span><\/span>, again, mobile services were snapped across Kashmir, except BSNL postpaid.<br \/>\nOn <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767894\"><span class=\"aQJ\">August 13<\/span><\/span>, postpaid services were restored but broadband services were snapped. A day after, postpaid services, except BSNL, were again snapped.<br \/>\nOn <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767895\"><span class=\"aQJ\">September 14<\/span><\/span>, broadband services were snapped again. They were resumed after four days, on September 19.<br \/>\nOn October 14, in an official statement, police said: \u201cWith the improvement in the situation prepaid mobile services are being restored from <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767896\"><span class=\"aQJ\">tonight<\/span><\/span> (<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_142767897\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span>).\u201d <em><strong>(KNS)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mobile Internet still under suspension Srinagar: Prepaid mobile phone services were restored across Kashmir on Saturdayafter remaining suspended for 98 days.
