{"id":6816,"date":"2016-10-31T17:21:47","date_gmt":"2016-10-31T11:51:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kashmir.today\/?p=6816"},"modified":"2016-10-31T17:21:47","modified_gmt":"2016-10-31T11:51:47","slug":"confused-confused-hurriyat-conference-mustafa-kamal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=6816","title":{"rendered":"I am confused about \u2018confused Hurriyat conference\u2019: Mustafa Kamal"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><em><strong>\u2018Hurriyat lacks roadmap, Autonomy only solution to Kashmir issue\u2019<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n<p><em><strong>Srinagar:<\/strong> Senior leader of National Conference (NC) Sheikh Mustafa Kamal today said the Hurriyat Conference ever since its inception on the political forum of Kashmir lacked the much needed roadmap towards the solution of vexed dispute.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Kamal said Hurriyat is at the end of road and have never offered any concrete possible solution to Kashmir issue. \u201cHurriyat has nothing except promoting unrest. I personally see they don\u2019t have a road map. Not to talk of the last four months, since 1972 they don\u2019t had a roadmap and they still don\u2019t have a roadmap,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Kamal said putting an end to this current uprising won\u2019t end their (Hurriyat) politics. \u201cThey should be keen to end this unrest and put their act together what they want,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The additional general secretary of NC said Yasin Malik, a prominent leader of the pro-freedom camp, didn\u2019t talk to the recent BJP leader Yashwant Sinha led group to Kashmir, which hints that there appears no unity within Hurriyat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI also belong to Kashmir. A prominent leader, Malik didn\u2019t talk. He came away. His refusal about not meeting makes it clear that they aren\u2019t really one,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Kamal said small things always add up and one should never underestimate small initiatives.\u00a0 Stating that autonomy is the only solution to Kashmir issue, he said PM Narendra Modi swears by constitution. \u201cEverything J&amp;K got through the special status was altered. There was no justification of altering our special status and this is a reason where we stand today,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Accusing New Delhi of double speak, Kamal said on one side the government of India says Kashmir is its internal issue and even asks United Nations to wind up its operations in Srinagar or look for its own accommodation, and on the other side New Delhi tells Pakistan to pull out troops from Pakistani Kashmir as per UN resolutions. \u201cWe don\u2019t have to truncate the state or cut it into pieces. It has to remain autonomous,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>About the recent meeting of NC President Farooq Abdullah with Narendra Modi, Kamal said Farooq told New Delhi to engage everybody willing to talk.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNC has a roadmap. We didn\u2019t sell autonomy. Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh passed a unanimous resolution seeking autonomy in the state,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To a question that the resolution passed by J&amp;K assembly was never taken seriously by New Delhi, he said that is right, but the resolution can\u2019t be wished away by the GoI.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAutonomy is 100 percent within the constitution of India. If you have to look for \u2018moon\u2019 or \u2018sky is the limit\u2019 theories then autonomy is the solution waiting to be implemented and restore pre-1953 situation in Kashmir,\u201d he concluded.
