{"id":741,"date":"2014-02-14T16:01:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-14T16:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kashmir-today.net\/ocean-of-tears-screened-in-kerala-amidst-protests\/"},"modified":"2014-02-14T16:01:00","modified_gmt":"2014-02-14T16:01:00","slug":"ocean-of-tears-screened-in-kerala-amidst-protests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=741","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Ocean of Tears\u2019 screened in Kerala amidst protests"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kashmir.watch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/ocean-of-tears.jpg\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/kashmir.watch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/ocean-of-tears.jpg\" height=\"160\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><b>SRINAGAR: <\/b>\u2018Ocean of Tears\u2019, a documentary on the Kunan- Poshpora rape victims in north Kashmir\u2019s Kupwara district, was screened at VIBGYOR International short and documentary film festival in Kerala on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;BJP activists protested and ransacked the venue resulting in the disturbances for some time but the screening was completed by the efforts of the organisers and the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Considered to be the largest alternative film festival in South Asia, the VIBGYOR film festival is being held from February 11 to 16 at Thrissur City of Kerala.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the screening of the film started at 5:30m Pm, a handful of BJP activists started sloganeering outside the venue and later barked in and ransacked furniture and the screen,\u201d Bilal A Jan, the film maker told Kashmir Life over phone from Kerala.<\/p>\n<p>However, Bilal said that the film was fully screened later by the efforts of the organizers and the audience.<\/p>\n<p>P Baburaj from Regional theatre Thrissur, Kerala while talking to Kashmir Life alleged that Kerala, police allowed the BJP activists led by their state President Adv.
