{"id":823,"date":"2014-02-07T17:44:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-07T17:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kashmir-today.net\/screening-of-afzals-maqbool-thwarted\/"},"modified":"2014-02-07T17:44:00","modified_gmt":"2014-02-07T17:44:00","slug":"screening-of-afzals-maqbool-thwarted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmir.watch\/?p=823","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Screening of Afzal\u2019s MAQBOOL thwarted\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/kashmir.watch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/unnamed.png\" style=\"clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/kashmir.watch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/unnamed.png\" height=\"200\" width=\"154\" \/><\/a><strong>SRINAGAR<\/strong>: <\/div>\n<p>The screening of a documentary film based on the  life of Maqbool Bhat, scheduled to be held on February 8 at a local  hotel here, has been thwarted as the hotel authorities have cancelled  the booking. <\/p>\n<div>The reports received by KNS informed that the  screening of the 60 minute duration film titled \u2018MAQBOOL\u2019 was scheduled  to take place at a government run hotel here on February 8 but due to  the objection of the state authorities, the film makers have decided to  cancel the screening.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe hotel manager called us and informed that the  police authorities have directed to cancel the booking meant for the  film screening on the grounds of law and order,\u201d said Afzal, the maker  of \u2018MAQBOOL\u2019, adding that \u201cthey had booked the conference hall of the  hotel two days earlier.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>He further said that they have been informed that  for the screening of the film, the written permission from the deputy  commissioner (DC) is necessary. \u201cThe film is based on the personal and  political life of Maqbool Bhat and has several interviews of his  companions and childhood friends,\u201d said Afzal. The film has tried to  cover all major incidents of Maqbool Bhat\u2019s life and also emphasis has  been laid upon the political situation of that time when Maqbool joined  the militant ranks.<\/div>\n<div>Afzal said that the group of some young film makers  have joined heads together and have started a production house called  \u2018footsteps\u2019. \u201cWe had the footage of more than 15 hours and the film has  been thoroughly edited on final cut pro.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SRINAGAR: The screening of a documentary film based on the life of Maqbool Bhat, scheduled to be held on February 8 at a local hotel here, has been thwarted as the hotel authorities have cancelled the booking.
