  • Is Prince Mohammad bin Salman-led Saudi Arabian government ready to embrace Israel?

JERUSALEM: After the United Arab Emirates, Israel is warming up to Saudi Arabia and Indonesia

Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said they are looking to “expand the Abraham Accords to additional countries” beyond the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.

“If you’re asking me what the important countries that we’re looking at are, Indonesia is one of them, Saudi Arabia of course, but these things take time,” he said.

Saudi Arabia, home to Islam’s holiest two sites, and Indonesia, which has the world’s largest Muslim population, have conditioned any eventual normalization with Israel on the addressing of the Palestinians’ quest for statehood on territory captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war.

Lapid added that “smaller countries” he did not identify could normalize relations with Israel in the coming two years.

Israel’s President Isaac Herzog said he would visit the United Arab Emirates, the first country to normalize ties with Israel as part of the Abraham Accords, on Jan 30-31, and meet with its leaders.

Despite the absence of official ties, Saudi Arabia agreed in 2020 to allow Israel-UAE flights to cross its territory.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s El Al Israel Airlines plane flew through Saudi airspace when he visited Abu Dhabi last month.

A covert visit to Saudi Arabia in November 2020 by then-prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was confirmed by Israeli officials but publicly denied by Riyadh. Both Israel and Saudi Arabia share concerns over their common enemy, Iran.

Both Saudi Arabia and Indonesia condemned Israel’s airstrikes in Gaza during 11 days of hostilities with Palestinians in May 2021. More than 250 Palestinians were killed in Gaza. Rockets fired by Hamas and other groups killed 13 people in Israel.

  • Tiger Befriends Goat Who Was Given To Him As Live Food

    By: Olivia

Predators can become friends with their prey. They build a special bond with their “live” food instead of eating them. Some people may get doubted about this but it actually happens.

Friendship has no barrier. It can beat all the odds in this world.

This is what happens with Amur the tiger and Timur the goat in Primorye Safari Park. Timur was placed in Amur’s cage as live food but it didn’t happen in the way that zookeepers thought.

The predator and the prey befriended each other. Timur the prey was supposed to be afraid of its predator but it wasn’t. Amur was confused and gave up on its prey. A lifelong friendship between the fearless goat and the majestic animal blossomed. Amazing!

You can watch the beautiful friendship of the tiger and the goat below.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U6dZs1SvzlE

Their special relationship even made their caretakers astonished. The reason was that Amur still ate live animals. The tiger had never behaved this way before. Refuse to eat the prey given to him, even befriend it.

The odd friends loved spending time together. They played, walked, hunted, and just had fun all together. Their friendship lasted until Timur the goat passed away.

If you love this beautiful friendship, just share the post with your family and friends.

  • Omicron generated antibodies effective against all variants of concern in adolescents, adults: ICMR study

NEW DELHI: The latest study conducted by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) shows that antibodies generated by Omicron, a Covid-19 strain, are not only effective against it but also other variants of concern (VOCs) including Delta

“The individuals infected with Omicron have significant immune response which could neutralize not only the Omicron but also the other VOCs including most prevalent Delta variant,” a study by ICMR has revealed.

“This suggests that the immune response induced by the Omicron could effectively neutralize the Delta variant making the re-infection with Delta less likely, thereby displacing the Delta as dominant strain. This emphasizes the need for the Omicron specific vaccine strategy,” it further said.

In this study, the ICMR has analyzed the IgG and neutralising antibodies (NAbs) against B.1, Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omicron variants with the sera of individuals infected with the Omicron variant (B.1.1529 and BA.1) as currently India is facing the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

ICMR has said that within short span of time, the variant has shown high transmissibility and capability of evading the immune response generated against natural infection and vaccination. The immune escape potential of Omicron is a serious concern and further needs to be explored.

The study, where antibodies response was assessed in those who are infected by Omicron, is pre-print not peer reviewed.

It also stated: “In the present study, we have assessed the IgG and neutralizing antibody (NAb) response in breakthrough individuals vaccinated with two doses ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine (n=25), breakthrough individuals vaccinated with two doses of BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine (n=8) and unvaccinated individuals (n=6). All these individuals were infected with Omicron variant.”

The participants in the study were adults from foreign countries and adolescents from India.

  • COVID-19: Omicron triggered third wave in J&K, peak likely in next one week: Experts

Delta variant still around, reason likely behind rise in death rate: Health officials

Srinagar, Jan 26: The third wave of Covid-19 in J&K was triggered by a new variant Omicron and the wave is likely to reach peak in next one week, experts and health officials said on Wednesday.

Top health officials from J&K while talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the most predominant variant in J&K is Omicron which has triggered third wave, however, Delta variant is still around and there is no place for complacency.

They said that as per the data from genome sequencing labs, Omicron is found around 45 percent of the positive cases while Delta is found in around 30 to 35 percent cases.

They further added that data clearly indicates that Delta variant is around and people should continue to follow Covid appropriate behaviour in letter and spirit.

“Delta variant was behind the second wave and in the same month over 1600 deaths were reported in May month alone and it is likely that same variant continues to infect people and is the main reason behind rise in death rate,” they said.

Experts believe that Delta variants besides some other variants are still circulating and Omicron hasn’t completely replaced Delta and other variants yet.

They said that if Delta is even infecting 5 or 10 percent of the people it causes severe disease mostly affecting lower respiratory tract due to which Covid deaths are reported.

They further added that most people who have died in the third wave were having underlying problems and were tested positive for Covid-19 as well.

They further added that in next one week a third wave is likely to reach a peak in J&K after that plateau will start which too will be short unlike the second wave—(KNO)
