  • Actress Nargis Fakhri Has Found Love in Kashmir-born US Businessman?

Nargis Fakhri rose to fame with Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ starring Ranbir Kapoor.

After the success of her 2011 film ‘Rockstar’, Nargis Fakhri made headlines for her relationship with Uday Chopra.

It seems actress and model Nargis Fakhri has found a new romantic interest. According to a recent report, the 42-year-old American-born, who has worked in Bollywood movies like Rockstar and Madras Cafe, is dating someone new after chef Justin Santos. Hindustan Times reported that Fakhri is currently seeing a businessman based in the United States. The report has mentioned that the actress, who is currently in Los Angeles, is seeing Kashmir-born Tony Beig who also happens to be the MD of a conglomerate.
According to Hindustan Times, Fakhri started dating the 37-year-old businessman towards the end of 2021. Quoting a source close to the couple, Hindustan Times reported that the two met during a social event and instantly hit it off. “They love spending time in each other’s company, and you will often find them going out together,” the source told Hindustan Times. Considering the relationship is still in its nascent stages, the actress wishes to keep the information low-profile. However, the love between the couple seems to be blossoming nonetheless.

It should be noted that Fakhri has not made any confirmation of the reported developments in her romantic life. Fakhri, who made her debut in Hindi cinema with Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar in 2011, had also dated actor Uday Chopra for five years. In an earlier interview, Fakhri had told The Times of India, “Uday and I dated for five years and he was the most beautiful human I met in India.” Fakhri also mentioned that she regrets not officially confirming her relationship with Chopra at the time.
“I never have said this to the press as people told me to keep my relationship quiet, but I regret that because I should have shouted from the mountain tops that I was with such a beautiful soul. The internet and social media is very fake and the people out there won’t know what the truth is. Most often we idolise certain people who are actually bad behind closed doors,” said Fakhri.

  • HC Notice To Govt On Plea Challenging Inquiry Into Death Of Noted Journalist Mudassir Ali

Srinagar, Jan 21: The J&K and Ladakh High Court has issued notice to government on a plea, challenging inquiry into the death of noted journalist Mudassir Ali in 2020.

Hearing a petition filed by Mussadir Ali’s brother—Jehangir Ali, a bench of Justice Mohammad Akram Chowdhary issued notice, returnable within four weeks, to government through Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, Director Health Services Kashmir, Deputy DHSK and Expert Committee through its Head, Dr. Abdul Rashid Najjar.

Jehangir Ali has sought directions to quash an Enquiry Report submitted to the DHSK by his deputyon 22 December 2020
“ The (officials) be directed to conduct fresh enquiry in the matter in view of the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court in Jacob Mathew v. State of Punjab reported in (2005) 6 SCC 1,” the plea, a copy of which lies with GNS, reads.

“The (officials) be directed to give a clear finding with respect to the fact whether the conduct of the doctor, administrative staff and the ambulance team amounted to Medical Negligence in the given facts and circumstances of the case.”

Giving brief about the facts leading to Mudassir’s death, Jehangir submitted that he along with other family members took the Mudassir to the Casualty of Sub-District Hospital, Chrar-i-Sharief on 20 November 2020 at around 3:00 AM, after he complained of breathlessness and chest pain. On arrival at the hospital, Jehangir said, the deceased was not provided with a wheelchair or a stretcher and the attendants were instructed to shift him to the ward on foot into another building using the stairs.

“The attending doctor was asleep in the night room and the hospital was understaffed and the deceased (Mudassir) had to be therefore carried by the attendants. While on the way into another building (Mudassir) collapsed and stopped breathing,” Jehangir said, adding, “After collapsing, the doctor asked for a life saving injection to be administered, from the staff, which also was not readily available.”

By the time the life saving drugs and other necessary tests were carried, Jehangir said, the deceased had completely stopped breathing and was unconscious. “The doctor present then inefficiently resorted to Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but to no avail.”

The petitioner and the other accompanying attendants were then instructed to shift the deceased to SMHS hospital in a Critical Care Ambulance, which is around 30 Kms from the Sub District Hospital, Jehangir said. “(Mudassir) was not kept on oxygen supply in the transit to SMHS hospital and resultantly the patient died en route and was declared brought-dead by the authorities at the SMHS Hospital.”

He said it is clearly discernible from the facts that the doctors and the administrative staff at the hospital delayed the treatment to be provided to Mudassir which ultimately aggravated his condition due to the fact that he was not kept on oxygen supply in the ambulance. He said that an enquiry committee headed by Dr Abdul Rashid Najjar was constituted by DHSK and submitted the report. However he said that report was not in consonance with the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court. (GNS)

  • Friday Prayers Disallowded At Jamia Masjid Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 21: Authorities today, once again for the 25th consecutive Friday, did not allow Muslims to perform mandatory Friday prayers at Jama Masjid Srinagar, the largest place of worship in Kashmir and the great centre of da’wah and preaching. By doing so, the administration continues to hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims and denying them their fundamental right up practice religion which is reprehensible , Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar said in a statement.

Anjuman Auqaf said that keeping the historic Jama Masjid continuously closed seems deliberate being done intentionally as part of an  agenda.

The statement said that the Anjuman-e-Awqaf had taken all SOPs and precautionary measures in view of the growing Pandemic yet prayers were disallowed.

The Anjuman also termed it extremely painful and distressing that its head Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is also the topmost religious leader of the people, has been kept under constant surveillance and house arrest since August 5, 2019 incapacitating him from reaching out to people.

Anjuman once again asks the authorities to open Jama Masjid for Friday prayers and ensure the release of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir.

  • Lashkar, Al-Badr militants planning to sneak into JK via PoK, Intel agencies warn

Amid the heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, the intelligence agencies have warned that militants from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Al Badr are planning to sneak into the Union Territory through Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), IANS reported quoting sources in the security set up.

They said, quoting intelligence inputs, said that at least seven militants of LeT and five of Al Badra are trying to cross over to Jammu and Kashmir from two different areas located in PoK.

The intelligence alert has specifically said that from one place in PoK, the LeT ultras will be trying to infiltrate with the help of a launch pad commander, while the five Al Badr militants are located near a launch pad in Balakot, who are being escorted by a local guide to infiltrate from the Bhimber Gali side in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The intel alerts have been shared with the J&K Police, Central security forces and the Army who have been asked to intensify patrolling along the international border adjoining the Bhimber Gali.

“The alert is a matter of major concern for the security forces ahead of the Republic Day, and if they (militants) are trying to cross the international border amid the heavy snowfall, it indicates that they must be equipped with winter clothing and navigational devices,” an official in the security forces deployed in J&K said.

He also said that in recent operations launched by the Central security forces and the state police, the militants who were neutralised had army grade winter clothing and other staff like dry-fruits and dry meals. This also indicates that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is providing logistic supports to these militants.

Recent intelligence inputs have also revealed that ISI has been searching for new routes to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir besides establishing new control rooms in PoK.

The security forces, after intercepting messages, revealed that eight new routes have been identified which are covered with snow and have less patrolling by Indian forces during peak winters.

The intelligence intercepts have further revealed that Pakistan has activated new launch pads along the Line of Control (LoC) with increased efforts to aid infiltration bids into Jammu and Kashmir before the Republic Day on January 26. IANS
