  • Before calling Martyrs as Rapists, Vikram Singh must answer who legalized prostitution in J&K: Er. Rasheed

PUF carries protest march against Vikram Aditya Singh.

Let NC, PDP & Congress clear their stand.

We will protect sacrifices of our Martyr’s.

Srinagar 20th July 2019: People’s united front carried out today a protest march in Srinagar against the remarks used by Grandson of Maharaja, Vikram Aditya Singh who had shamelessly called names against martyrs of 13th July 1931. Led by Er. Rasheed protesters where holding play cards seeking arrest of Vikram Aditya Singh and were also chanting slogans asking NC & PDP to explain their relations with Congress, Vikram Aditya Singh and those forces who are praising Maharaja every day. Protesters marched from Regal Chowk to Press Colony. Talking to media persons on the occasion Er. Rasheed said “We don’t want to indulge in blame game, but it is shameful that a person who happens to be Grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh rather collecting courage to seek apology for the heinous crimes committed by his father and grandfather is getting involved in character assassination of national heroes of J&K, who fought against all odds and laid down their lives against the autocratic rule. Aditya Singh needs to be reminded that during recently concluded parliamentary election as a Congress nominee he claimed to be representing so called secular forces and was supported by main regional parties NC & PDP. However after facing a humiliating defeat he is trying to become more communal than the non-communal forces. The martyrs of 13th July 1931 did not fought against Maharaja for being Hindu but laid down their lives against the brutal system of autocracy”. Er. Rasheed asked Vikram Aditya Singh to collect the courage and before calling martyrs as rapist he should answer who legalized prostitution in J&K. Er. Rasheed asked NC & PDP leadership to apologize for openly supporting Vikram Aditya Singh during the recently concluded Parliament election and reminded both the parties that they have always acted as proxies of New Delhi by representing a view point of Congress and BJP in the state from time to time. He said “How can NC abuse Maharaja in Srinagar but seek holiday on Maharaja’s birthday in Jammu. The hypocrisy must end and NC should clear its stand over Maharaja’s rule. Congress too needs to understand that its politics of exploitation has lost the ground and its claims of being secular stand exposed. Congress must either expel Vikram Aditya Singh or apologize for his statement or must toe the line of communal forces publically.” Er. Rasheed condemned the resolution passed by Jammu Municipal Corporation seeking holiday on eve of Maharaja’s birthday and said that action should be taken against the members of Jammu Municipal Corporation for praising Maharaja who committed huge atrocities on people of State. He asked people to understand how in an organized and systematic manner the history is being distorted and how to implement the notorious agenda efforts are on to abolish and abrogate the role of National heroes who laid down their lives for our better tomorrow. Protesters burnt effigy of Vikram Aditya Singh and took a pledge that they will protect the sacrifices of their martyrs.

  • Transgender community in Kashmir declared ‘third gender’

SRINAGAR: The transgender community has been declared as ‘third gender’ and all the required steps are being taken to address the problems faced by the community, the union government informed the The J&K High Court on Friday.
The process for issuance of Aadhar cards to transgender persons by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDIA) is underway, the court was told.
Taking the submissions on record, the Court of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rashid Ali Dar directed Social Welfare Department to inform the court about the admissions of transgenders in schools and colleges.
The court observed that it is the primary responsibility of every society that any marginalized community is not left to suffer in isolation.
“These people are from us and we cannot keep blind eye towards their miseries,” the court said.
Earlier, a policy for transgenders was finalised by state government in view of court directions and urgency to address the issues faced by the community in particular reference with NLSA judgement passed by Supreme Court.
A PIL filed in 2017 sought that the government must acknowledge transgenders as marginalised and vulnerable section of society and introduce reservations in government jobs and educational institutions. It also sought monthly welfare fund for them.
“The social and economic problems faced by transgenders are known to everyone and the way they are being left out by the families and the society at large is a narrative which needs to be changed. The primary aspect is that we are all human beings and they deserve the same rights as anyone else,” said one of the petitioners.
The petitioners sought construction of shelter homes for the transgenders as most of them are disowned by their families. They also pleaded for counselling centres, welfare boards and police stations for the transgender community for building strong civil society support to curb harassment against them.

  • 13th July 1931 martyrs will always remain national heroes: Er. Rasheed

Maharaja’s atrocities on Kashmiris will always haunt us.

Let Vikram Aditya not forget the Maharaja engineered genocide of Muslims in Jammu province in 1947.

Maharaja conspired with late sheikh Sahab and acceded to India only because he was a Hindu.

Asks Div. Com to make his position clear on ban on highway after a prominent citizen was not allowed to carry his father’s dead body.

Srinagar: Coming down heavily on Vikram Aditya Singh, Congress leader & Maharaja’s grandson, for insulting martyrs of 13th July 1931, AIP President Er. Rasheed has said that the statement made is shameful, distortion of the facts and misleading. In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said that rather spitting the sky Mr. Vikram Aditya Singh must collect the courage and apologize for the huge atrocities his grandfather committed on innocent Kashmiris. He said “Those praising Maharaja must not forget that Maharaja had bulldozed basic rights of citizens, snatched their religious freedom and given liberty even to his Chowkidars to murder and rape anyone they would wish. From Maharaja to his ordinary Chowkidars everyone would treat state like its concubine and their process of looting even day to day edibles of common masses was far worse than today’s gangsters. Those who were martyred on 13th July 1931 will remain national heroes till dooms day and every year on 13th July Maharaja’s dark era will be condemned. History can never forgive Hari Singh for the massacre of Nov 1947 by his army killing lakhs of Muslims in Jammu province. The state sponsored genocide was the beginning of demographic changes in the state”. Er. Rasheed added that before attributing anything to martyrs of 13th July 1931, neither Maharaja’s family nor anyone else must forget that whatsoever the entire subcontinent is facing today is because of Maharaja’s communal designs as he gifted J&K to New Delhi against the principles of partition according to which J&K should have become part of Pakistan not India. He said “The bitter fact is that Maharaja preferred India over Pakistan only for the reason he was a Hindu and thus handed over entire state to flames of distraction. The Maharaja’s decision to acceded with India and his dubious understanding with late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah created hatred among communities and also put the entire J&K in such a state of political uncertainty that not only the life of Kashmiris but that of entire subcontinent continues to be worse than the hell even after 72 years of instrument of accession”. Er. Rasheed added that history will always remember the martyrs of 13th July 1931 who had a vision, conviction, commitment & courage to sacrifice their lives against Maharaja’s autocracy and thus created a history by bringing awareness among masses that how much mighty any autocratic ruler may be, he has to surrender before the will of masses. Er. Rasheed also condemned the incident in which a prominent citizen was crying for not being allowed to carry forward the dead body of his father by the security forces on national highway. Er. Rasheed asked Div. Com Kashmir to explain his position over the issue and reminded him of his tall claims that there is no ban on movement of civilian traffic on the highway. He urged Div. Com Kashmir to apologize for becoming a false mouth piece of the administration to hide the colonial and anti-people measures of the Government.

  • Kerala Police Chief Travels to Saudi to Nab Absconding Child Rapist

In 2017, a 13-year-old girl was raped for three months by a friend of her father’s in Kollam, Kerala. The accused, 38-year-old Sunil Kumar Bhadran, was a native who had moved to Saudi Arabia and had only come to India on vacation.

Once the victim reported the incident to family and police, the accused fled to Saudi. Soon after, the victim committed suicide, as did her uncle who had first introduced the accused to the family.

However, a determined young IPS officer had ensured that justice will be delivered. Despite an Interpol notice being issued for Bhadran in 2017, nothing much had moved. However, newly appointed Kollam Police Commissioner Merin Joseph who assumed the position in June this year, moved with alacrity and speed.

As per a report in News Minute, Merin and her team landed in Riyadh and with the help of Interpol, managed to nab the accused. Ever since Merin took the Commissioner’s position, she has been focusing on clearing pending cases, especially those involving women and children.

As per the commissioner, Kollam Police’s International Investigation Agency was constantly following-up with the Saudi authorities. As per the report in TNM, Saudi authorities already had him in custody.

Merin need not have gone herself but she accompanied her team for the extradition of Bhadran, who became the first man in Saudi to be arrested for a crime committed in India.

Merin, one of the youngest IPS officers in Kerala and a vocal proponent of women’s rights, earned respect and praise on social media for her determined execution of the investigation. Some even referred to her as the ‘real Singham’.
