  • Irani hopes better for education revolution in J&K: Bhat

Srinagar: “The personal concern which has been always shown by Ms. Smriti Irani during her political career in boosting the educational infrastructure and quality education in J&K state will definitely yield results after her taking over as HRD minister,” said Fayaz Ahmad Bhat senior BJP leader.

According to a statement issued to KNS, while interacting with large number of delegations today Bhat said that the frustration which is being exhibited by Congress for elevation of Smriti Irani to the minister of HRD is because of her honesty, dedication and extraordinary knowledge which she possesses and even highest stalwart of Congress couldn’t compete her. He recalled that during 1947 era congress party even criticized Rabindranath Tagore for his degree qualification but today entire India owes national Anthem to Rabindranath Tagore.

Bhat said that both Centre and state government is responsible for collapsing of primary and higher level educational system in JK State. They created Inspector Raj policy to harass quality expansion at the bottom level and discouraged creation of vast infrastructure at higher educational level, which could have proved beneficial for eradicating unemployment in the state. Even after passing the university bills various hindrances were created at different levels.

Bhat while referring to the Prime Ministers Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) which was launched on the persistent demands of Jammu and Kashmir Peace Foundation and other originations as well as great educational personalities of India including Smriti Irani, T.K Nayar, MM Ansari and others said that it helped to large extent to bring youth of Kashmir towards the line of education and abandon stone pelting and other anti national activities. However,  it is a fact that lot of difficulties were created by not disbursing scholarships to the students on time, and creating problems to the students by over online procedures, formalities and discouragement created by some politicians who survive on the name of turmoil and who do not want youth to take computers in their hands and acquire professional degrees. In spite of being mainstream politicians their preference is to keep stones in the hands of our budding youth so that they can exploit them for their own interests.

Bhat said that new HRD minister will personally monitor expansion of higher education system and ask a report from the state government for not utilizing the funds for higher education which were released to them, it establish their connivance for discouragement of education expansion  and encouragement of turmoil. He said that very soon such personalities who played positive role in implementation of PMSSS will be awarded in the first week of August on a Grand function in Bakhshi Stadium where new batch of students will be flagged off by HRD minister to whom appeal has been made that double the students should be selected from for scholarship scheme and number should be increased from five thousand to ten thousand. He also appealed to HRD ministry that students should be given same type of scholarship scheme for the Masters degree as well and this will encourage quality education in JK State. He said that JK state is the abode of knowledge and we have best talented students available but they are not able to pursue higher education due to the lack of resources.

Bhat said that selection procedure should be made simple by creating online file submission centers. Those students who will register themselves in a transparent manner will be invited in a flag off ceremony after confirmation of their admission in various colleges in India.  He appealed HRD ministry to appoint one monitory team for ensuring transparency in the system and at the same time he appealed that all students are advised to adhere the guidelines and discipline of the college after getting admission and they should not resort to any anti national activity as such offences are committed only by some students but it adversely affect the admission and future  of thousands of students as various national level colleges refuse to admit other students on this pretext. Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Bhat also made an appeal to all colleges to forgive and forget, especially colleges located in Meerut to not to close the doors for Kashmiri student new intending students will adhere all discipline in letter and spirit. He appealed media, educationists, intellectuals and others to guide the students to devote themselves only for the education and avoid any anti national activity.
