Kulgam: Expressing shock over the massive outbreak of gastroenteritis in scores of villages surrounding Kund area of district Kulgam, senior PDP leader and Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Mohammad Sartaj Madni has demanded immediate medicare facilities for the affected people affected.
According to a statement issued to KNS, Madni visited the affected villages today to take stock of the situation. He also visited PHC Razlaw where scores of patients affected by the gastroenteritis are presently undergoing treatment.
Madni said besides rushing teams of specialized doctors to the affected villages, the Government must investigate the causes of the disease outbreak so that people are safeguarded from future threats. He said the PHE Department should take water samples from all the affected areas for proper investigation as people complain that the disease outbreak was caused by contaminated water. He said the government functionaries responsible for putting the lives of the people at risk should be taken to task.
