New Delhi, June 28 : The turbulence in the Roshan family may be a result not of religious differences, as presented by Sunaina Roshan and Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel, but on the supposed marital status of Sunaina’s alleged boyfriend, a report in Bollywood Hungama reveals.

A source close to the Roshans – Sunaina is the daughter of filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and the sister of actor Hrithik – claims that Ruhail Amin, the journalist Sunaina says she’s dating, is reportedly already married with children. Sunaina’s parents simply want to protect their daughter, claims the source. The Roshans are also reportedly concerned about Ruhail Amin’s failure to publicly acknowledge a romance with Sunaina.

Sunaina Roshan and Rangoli Chandel have both claimed that the Roshans object to Sunaina’s alleged romance with Ruhail Amin because he is Muslim. Sunaina has claimed her father hit her and called Ruhail a terrorist.

Family opposition, it now seems, could be based on Ruhail’s unavailability as a potential groom. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the source says, “This chap whom Sunaina is seeing is apparently married and has children. That’s why Guddu and Pinky (Rakesh Roshan and his wife) are going nuts. Sunaina has already made monstrous marital mistakes. Her parents don’t want her to end up making one more wrong choice of partner.” Sunaina Roshan, 47, is believed to have been married twice.

Days ago, Ruhail Amin spoke to News18 at length about identity politics and being profiled on the basis of his faith. Asked why the Roshans would object to Sunaina dating a Muslim when Hrithik was married to one (Sussanne Khan), Ruhail Amin said, “Everyone can see the irony here.”

Ruhail Amin’s interview to News18 was remarkable for his failure to confirm a romance with Sunaina. The interviewer used the phrase ‘alleged boyfriend’ and Ruhail was non-committal, to say the least, when referring specifically to Sunaina. Bollywood Hungama reports that Ruhail’s distancing of himself from Sunaina has not escaped the Roshans. They are particularly troubled by his quote to Kashmir Life: “I have nothing to say (about) what is going on…Bollywood is a trivial place where people can write anything.”

Sunaina Roshan has tweeted and given interviews about ‘living in hell’ and has also accused her family of financially depriving her:

Hrithik broke a promise to buy her a flat and also refused to pay a rent of Rs 2.5 lakh, she claims; she also says that ‘as a Roshan,’ she is entitled to more than the Rs 50,000 a month her parents give her for expenses.

Sunaina Roshan has publicly allied herself with actress Kangana Ranaut, who has feuded bitterly with Hrithik Roshan for the last two years. On Twitter, Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel has accused the Roshans of violence and of sedating Sunaina, calling them ‘dangerous’ and ‘criminal.’

She also admitted that Kangana has blocked Sunaina. Rangoli’s tweets have been met with a barrage of critical responses, several of them accusing the sisters of exploiting Sunaina Roshan for personal gain.

Last week, Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan posted on social media about Sunaina’s ‘unfortunate situation’ and the family’s ‘tough period.’ There has been no official statement from the Roshans so far.

Er. Rasheed responds to Amit Shah’s speech in the parliament.

Reacting sharply to Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech in the parliament, calling Article 370 a temporary provision, AIP President Er. Rasheed has said that of course Article 370 is a temporary provision in the constitution of India so is the accession between J&K and Union of India temporary and conditional. Addressing party workers at Sonwar Srinagar today Er. Rasheed said “By dragging Article 370 every time BJP and the Union Government is insulting India’s own constitution. Creating a false narrative is distortion of facts. Mr. Amit Shah should explain circumstances under which Article 370 was introduced in the constitution of India. Of course Article 370 must go for being a temporary provision but to do that first fate of J&K is to be decided through an impartial plebiscite. If people decide a total merger with Indian Union through a plebiscite then everyone including Mr. Amit Shah can treat and define J&K like other Indian states”. Er. Rasheed added that it is not Kashmiris but New Delhi that has always disrespected the terms and conditions between J&K and Union of India. Er. Rasheed said “it is strange that on hand successive Union Governments eroded and snatched constitutional guarantees given to Kashmiris and on the other hand New Delhi broke down every promise made with Kashmiris from UN to Tashkand and from Shimla to Agra. The fact is that New Delhi has a history of broken promises and it has nothing to offer concrete to people of J&K to fulfill their aspirations and sacrifices”. Er. Rasheed asked New Delhi not to celebrate or undermine the talk offer made by Huriyat and reiterated that it is not only Huriyat or few individuals but every single Kashmiri on both the sides of LOC who wants a permanent resolution to Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and promises made with them from time to time. Others who spoke on the occasion included party district president Srinagar Mohd Maqbool Beigh and Showkat Ahmad Zargar.

Srinagar: A day after Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science (SKIMS) Soura authorities refuted the allegations about doctors preferring watching cricket match than to attend on two little babies who had taken some poisonous substance, the family of these twin babies Friday said that ‘arrogant’ doctors not only thrashed the attendants but also dragged them out from the hospital without treating the babies.

“The claim made by the SKIMS authorities through Assistant Director Public Relations is absolutely false and fabricated while the truth is doctors got disturbed after we entered the hospital with our unconscious babies. Any conscience minded person will take pity on me after listening to my story,” the father of the babies told news agency CNS.

While narrating his ordeal at Press Enclave Srinagar, Tanvir Ahmed Khan, a resident of Bemina Srinagar said that on June 26, when everyone was engrossed in watching Pakistan, New Zealand cricket match, his two babies took some poisonous substances. We took them to JVC Bemina where doctors after administering a vaccine referred them to SKIMS Soura for immediate stomach wash.”

He said he had a bitter experience at SKIMS which changed his outlook towards doctors’ community. “One Doctor was watching Pakistan New Zealand cricket match on cell phone while another was checking his score of ‘Dream Eleven’.

Quoting one of the doctors as having said that JVC Bemina refers every Tom, Dick and Harry to Soura, Tanvir Ahmed Khan, the father of those two babies said that when one of his relatives accompanying him asked the doctor to repeat the same lines on mobile video, he snatched the cell phone and smashed it with the wall. “After entering into an argument, a couple of doctors called them into the Control Room. Few doctors locked the room and thrashed not only my relative but two other persons as well who had accompanied me. I begged before the doctors to attend my babies which they declined saying they are on strike,” he said.

“We have lodged a complaint against these doctors who thrashed the attendants at Police Station Soura and I hope these ‘unbridled and arrogant’ doctors will be taken to task,” Khan said.

He said it was a nightmare for him. “When doctors at SKIMS refused to attend my babies, without wasting any time, I shifted them to GB Panth hospital. I can’t express in words how these doctors behaved. For a moment I felt they are not doctors but bookies who are more interested in cricket than saving human lives. I will never forget the faces of those two doctors,” he said.

“My both babies are stable now, but I can’t forget this moment as well when the driver of the ambulance started watching cricket match as well while driving, when one of my babies was shifted to SMHS hospital from GB Panth for stomach wash on the same evening,” he said adding cricket fever has gripped almost everyone in Kashmir.

Pertinently, Public Relations Section of SKIMS has refuted the allegations of family. Assistant Director Public Relations has issued a statement that reads: “Two children had come to the Paediatric Emergency SKIMS as a case of ingestion of Caustic Soda. The patients had been referred from SKIMS Medical College Bemina. The children were seen by doctors on duty (Paediatrics). Further, advise for consultation from Gastroenterology was sought. Doctors on duty in Gastroenterology advised to admit the patients under Paedriatics and observe. No active intervention was needed. While the formalities were being made for admission, the attendants got angry and started altercation with the doctors on duty in paedriatics, asking why no active intervention was being done. Endoscopy in such a setting is contraindicated as it can lead to serious complication. Furthermore, the question of doctors watching cricket match does not arise when doctors were present on duty and no TV exists in these areas.”

The United Nations has dropped Kashmir in its regular update report on the situation of human rights around the world for the first time in three years.

According to a report that emanated from Geneva headquarters of the World Body, The News reported that it is being delayed due to ‘intense pressures’ and international politics, the UN officials and international diplomats at the headquarters contented.

A combined group of Kashmiri youth from the region has reached the headquarters, the report said.

Altaf Hussain Wani, leader of the delegation at UNHCR has expressed hope that it’s a delay but hopefully not for long. A prominent member of the delegation Ahmed Qureshi has termed it as a symbolic setback.

Qureshi who is executive director YFK-International Kashmir Lobby Group said that the oral update by the High Commissioner sets the global agenda on rights issues, and the world watches it closely.

He said that scrapping Kashmir suddenly after being in the top UN rights agenda for three years is a matter of concern. The delegation is hopeful that an update on Kashmir could be undertaken by the UN rights monitors “soon”.

Srinagar, June 28 : A 30-year old youth sustained critical bullet wounds near encounter site at Gund Checkpora Kanipora Nowgam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district was admitted in SMHS hospital here.

Reports reaching GNS said that the youth took to streets and clashed with forces near encounter site and its adjoining areas including Khanpora Nowgam. The police and paramilitary CRPF used pellets, tear smoke shells and some live ammunition to disperse them resulting in minor injuries to three persons.

Besides, one youth namely Shabir Ahmad son of Mohammad Ashraf of Chakapora, Kanapora was admitted in SMHS hospital here.

According to doctors, Shabir had sustained bullet wound in his lower abdomen and is being operated upon.

The doctor said that the condition of the youth is not well.

Earlier, a militant was killed in an encounter with goverment forces at Gund Checkpora, Kanipora, Nowgam. (GNS)
